BEDOUINE DUSTY EYES

'Dusty Eyes' is the first single to come from Bedouine's - real name Azniv Korkejian - self-titled debut album, due 23 June via Spacebomb Records. Born in Aleppo, Syria to Armenian parents, Korkejian spent her childhood in Saudi Arabia, moving to America when her family won a Green Card lottery. Settling in L.A. she is now producing the sort of timeless, self-assured, country-tinged folk that neatly aligns her with brilliant label-mate Natalie Prass. Of the track she explains, "I wrote 'Dusty Eyes' after coming home from what was clearly a final date. It's about infatuation, interrupted by the attempt to intellectualise it; trying to perceive the object as interchangeable. It nods to the common if not predictable cycle when love presents a challenge. This particular object of my affection had flecks of colour in his eyes like particles of dust in a sun beam, thus the title." -G.O'B
